The Meeting was opened with the Serenity Prayer,
Preamble and 12 Traditions.
DCM – Susie:
reported on the
January Quarterly which was held in Shelton and
an inventory was facilitated by Eddie H on
Friday night…which was very thought provoking
and the outcome being was that we are all
responsible for communication, better listening,
politeness and courtesy and working to make this
Area Better.
AA starts with the Home Groups.
Our Area has been asked as everyone had
to contribute $ 32 to PI Area Chair to put on a
PI workshop to be held in July of 2008.
It was a big issue at the Quarterly and
was discussed at length.
A lot of people in PI who have a
committee of one and it is very difficult for
them to do anything…this is to help the
committee chairs to see how they can get people
involved.
He is bringing a delegate in to help get
this done.
It will be held in Renton and did not get
approval from the Area for this.
It was a hot issue.
Susie asked if District 32 was will to
contribute the $ 32.
After some discussion it was voted on and
passed. Susie wanted to make sure all groups at
the correct address for Area 72 contributions:
702 Kentucky Street #535, Bellingham WA
98225-4200.
Next month our Area Corrections Chair and
the chair of Prison BTG will be giving a 15
minute presentation on what the Area is doing.
Let your groups know in anyone is
interest in this 12 step work.
Susie will be out of town for the March
District Meeting.
The April Quarterly will be held in
Silverdale and we have been asked to register
early.
A motion was made and passed to send
Susie and Gary to the April Quarterly.
Also it was brought to our attention in
order for us to be self sufficient at Area
level, it is appreciated if we would purchase
meals and hotel rooms to offset the costs.
Our Pre conference this year is set for
March 22nd at the Orting Soldiers
Home.
We are asked to support the Hosting
district by a $ 20 donation to offset the costs.
It was voted on and passed.
Susie presented a motion which was passed
at the Quarterly which we will take back to our
groups for approval – the motion reads “We move
that the General Service Conference instruct
AAWS to produce and publish a book containing
personal stories from geographically remote
areas of the world.”
It was discussed and the motion will be
taken back to the groups for discussion.
Seattle Intergroup is in great need of
“Night Watch” volunteers.
It involves having your home phone number
available to receive calls during the wee hours.
It is a once a month commitment.
The Area Accessibility Committee needs
two coordinators to help better do their job.
They need a language coordinator and
communication coordinator.
If you or anyone in your home group are
interested please call Lloyd at 206-380-6486.
One last thought out of the Quarterly is
that we seem to get more folks involved in
service work when we share a personal story
about reaching an Alcoholic than only stating a
need. The report was approved.
Alt. DCM – Gary:
Started updating
Registrar Paperwork.
The paperwork was passed around to get
updated information from all members.
Report was accepted.

the April Quarterly.

The Meeting was opened with the
Serenity Prayer, Preamble and 12 Traditions.
We
had a special speaker this meeting, Denny A., the
District Correction.
He was very informative and gave us some
great ideas of what is available for the members of
AA to do in the Corrections field. This included the
Bridge program.
Which is helping an inmate get to a meeting
when they get out of the institution.
Also he shared about the Corrections
Correspondence program.

He will follow up with Mr. Garrision before

The goal of $1300 was almost met for the
workshop from donations from the districts.
We were shore $200.
Area Chair welled up with emotions from the
support.
Next Quarterly is open to all who want to learn
about PI.
All PI committee members would benefit from
going.
It will be held in Bremerton on May 10th.
Wayne plans to get some rack bundles to
present to GSRs to show their home groups and see if
that inspires some participating fro PI group reps
and get more people to form the PI committee.
Wayne also got about 50 questions from
students for when we go to the HS and present to
them at the beginning of the classes for inspiring
involvement.
A new committee involving the elderly was

It has been a slower month than expected. Kari our

scenes as Alternate where I thrive. The next
correction quarterly will be held at the United
Congregational Church of Christ, in Monroe WA. on
Sat. March 15th from 8am to 3pm all are
welcome. We are awaiting the arrival of the new DVD
on carrying the message to the institution and are
striving to work with our CPC chair to support the
carrying the AA message inside to be issued at the
quarterly. We will be honored to have Denny our Area
Corrections Chair and Toni T area Bridging the Gap
share at our District meeting tonight. The pink can
funding is growing and we will be using some of the

still awaiting approval for the volunteers for the
Pioneer Center Federal Half Way House….slow coming.
I would like to thank Hillory a GSR from our
district and a designated sponsor for Pioneer for
her attendance at Seattle Intergroup Corrections

the members of the district that have helped in
meeting the challenges we face in carrying the
message to those who are
The Report was accepted.
Archives
– Jim C.: Was not able to attend Feb
Archives quarterly.
However, he visited with Merry O. who is the
archivist for District 18 and she shared events of
the quarterly.
I met with Merry O. at the storage unit in
Auburn.
She moved a few boxes into the unit and gave me a
check for $120 for 6 months of the shared expense
with District 18 for the unit.
I had a spare couple of keys made and gave
one to Merry with information for access to the
storage unit.
District 18 is now officially sharing our
unit. I
would like to put together a committee to go over
the inventory and review the units contents.
I am also looking to find an alternate
Archivist. Hopefully, in the future I would like to
put together a work party to go through the Archives
and organize talk about putting together a “road

The Meeting was opened with the Serenity Prayer,
Preamble and 12 Traditions.
DCM
– Susie: Thank you District 32 for sponsoring me to PRAASA. There were over 700
DCM’s, GSR’s, Delegates, and others in attendance
from 10 Areas/Canada. Truly an honor to be there.
There is way too much information to share in my
allotted time so just a few thoughts are sent your
way.
Service is like recovery….the process needs to be
repeated.
General Service is gratitude in action.
At times, ALL of us get discouraged in
service and will be tempted to quit.
There are 3 thing to go…1st
Service goes, 2nd Meetings go, 3rd
I go.
God does not call the qualified, He qualifies
the called.
We don’t deal in numbers….we deal in people.
Remember,
when you deliver a pizza you are not
responsible if it gets eaten.
The topics at PRAASA were many and touched on almost
all of the committee chairs. I will email the
committee chairs to consider if they would like to
implement any of the ideas brought by Areas to the
conference.
GSO was also represented by Trustees, the General
Manager and our Pacific NW regional Delegate.
If every group that is listed with GSO gave
$140.00 a year, ( $6.48 per person, per year) we
would be self supporting and we would not have to
increase literature prices to and sales to balance
the budget.
There were lots of statistics stated with
GSO. If
anyone is interested, I can get all those to you.
One topic that was greatly discussed was medication and
the AA member.
It seems to me that by and large the
consciences was that it is between the doctor and
member, and perhaps the sponsor. That medication is
a private matter and, like a 5th step, is
not open to others to debate.
Shaming needs to stop.
That is enough out of me, except a big THANK YOU to
Jean-Paul for joining me at the conference and being
my personal tour guide in Anchorage, as time would
allow.
Report was accepted.
Alt. DCM – Gary:
Pretty much done with updating registrar paperwork I
need to collaborate with area registrar to finalize.
Also started the process of encouraging standing
committee members to finalize committee meeting
dates, times and locations (aside form PI who is
already up and running).
See you next month. If you have any questions
please call me 206-850-6521 or contact me on my
email
gurminder_hothi@hotmail.com.
Report was accepted.
Secretary
– Pam: The minutes were approved from the February
meeting.
Treasurer
– Mike: The treasurers report for last month was
distributed to members.
Beginning balance of $3564.09.
Expenses for the month were $ 208.52.
Contributions for the month were $ 451.83.
Prudent Reserve of $ 800.00.
Ending balance of $ 2473.99.
A motion was made to approve the report and
it was accepted.
CPC
– Jean Paul: No responses to Federal Way
letters yet. Possible reasons: Business,
Misunderstanding, Fears of “Religious” implications
(brought up at the PRAASA meeting in Anchorage).
Attended PRAASA in Anchorage and participated
in all of Saturday’s events. Spoke up about programs
in Schools, successes and failures. Issues of
“religious” separation and predator issues have come
up across the nation. These issues are preventing
good school participation.
Participated in PI Committee meeting 3/12.
3/28 Panel at Auburn Riverside.
PRAASA concerns mentioned above. Will clarify
with Chris Garrison what his impression is if the
topic of religious/spiritual discussions in Fed Way
and Auburn Schools.
Will also try to get Mr Garrison to advocate
his approach with his peers.
Report was accepted.
Webmaster
– Mike:
The monthly District 32 minutes are getting
posted to the website.
Check it out at:
http://district32aa.org/.
A motion was made to accept the report and it
was passed.
PI
– Wayne: We have 4 locations that we have put out
pamphlets, and are still inquiring about a few more,
The Federal Way Library’s seem to go through a lot.
We are still looking into the Auburn Libraries and
Hotels. Intergroup is looking into finding or making
a 4 or 5 tier cardboard pamphlet rack for displays.
Wayne’s next PI Committee meeting is
Saturday, April 9th at 6 pm at his house

DCM
– Susie: DCM Report
April 21 2008 -I attended the quarterly in
Silverdale the first of April.
There are a few things to run by you and 3
more motions that will be presented at the Oct.
Assembly. We can discuss them during new business.
There were actually 11 motions presented but
only 3 were passed to go to the Assembly.
The Area Webmaster is redoing our Area
Website so it should be much easier to navigate.
This will be launched in July.
He has requested currant meeting times and
schedules from all districts.
Mike is this possible?
He would like it do in Excel.
Speaking of Mike G. thanks for the hard work you put
in at Intergroup, translating the 12 concepts into
Spanish and for North Americans. Our Delegate was
very grateful and I knew nothing of it.
Also thanks to Mike R. and Mike M.
Groups….Please have your treasurers put your
group # on all checks to Area and GSO.
If you don’t know your group # , please see
Mike G or myself and we can let you know.
Our Area Treasurer would like to note where
contributions come from.
There is talk about Seattle Intergroup funding the
South End Book Club.
PLEASE start talking up your jobs and start looking
around for a replacement.
It sure helps to have a little guidance as
you start a new position in general service.
Mark your calendars for August 10th for
the Pre-Assembly.
We were able to get it close this year
(Auburn) and have joined in with 4
other district.
The motions will be discussed in detail, a
mock election will be held (as this is an election
year) and I think a brief discussion of Roberts Rule
of Order and how AA loosely follow them.
I have flyers for the October Assembly which will be
held the 2nd weekend in October.
It is in Everett this year.
I have also reserved a room as theses seem to
go very quickly.
You may want to give your home groups the
“heads up” that this is coming and funding for you
will be needed.
Last but not least, I have assembled copies of the
District 32 Handbook.
I will be giving one to each home group, so
hopefully these can stay in the home group for
future reference.
Motion was passed to accept the HandBook.
Report was accepted

CPC
– Jean Paul:
Off to Turkey and France so my apologies for
missing the District meeting.
Poor Baby!!!
3/28 Panel at Auburn Riverside High School-
Attended by Wayne O, Brittanie, Robert, Jessica and
myself. Jessica and Robert were new to the event and
the classes were very interested in their
experiences. Very lively day!
I forgot to share Area news from the CPC
Quarterly in Vancouver at our last meeting in March,
so here are some important items:
Criminal Justice Conference in Ocean Shores
Sept 17th-19th, 2008.
There is a new movement for cooperation with
the Elderly community and the focus is on bringing
AA information to Senior centers and Assisted living
centers. This may be an interesting project for us
in Federal way.
Many Districts are also working on Packet
projects to increase awareness of CPC/PI at the home
group level. Sounds like we should do this to get
more participation from group level.
Nothing New, but will be attending the May 10th
CPC/PI Quarterly in Bremerton, so hope to have a
lively report next month.

The Meeting was opened with the Serenity Prayer,
Preamble and 12 Traditions.
DCM – Susie:
I don't have much to report this month so just a few reminders are sent your
way.
I
have a copy of the 2008 Delegates Report and the locations available. This is a
great opportunity to hear and understand what actually goes on at GSO, New York.
A reminder that August 10th is our (District 32) pre-assembly
date to discuss motions and the assembly process. It is to be held at the
Auburn Park and Rec. The better informed we are the smoother (and
quicker!) the Process proceeds.
Intergroup has a phone line hook-up now at the South End
Bookstore. If distance to Seattle Intergroup was an obstacle for your home
group in answering phones, that obstacle has now been removed.
Lastly, as most of you know, Gary will be stepping down as
Alternate DCM. It is recommended on page S29 of the AA Service Manuel,
that the incoming DCM be elected prior to the General Assembly. That would
be September for us. So think, pray and look around (it may be YOU!) and
let's get this position filled.
Report was accepted.
Alt. DCM – Gary:
Gary is having to step down as Alt. DCM.

GSR Meeting July 21, 2008
The
Meeting was opened with the Serenity Prayer, Preamble
and 12 Traditions.
DCM
– Susie:.
I
attended the July Quarterly in Kent.
There were 3 motions presented but only one was
approved to go to the Area Assembly for your
consideration.
That will be discussed in new business.
Speaking of the October Assembly, please register
early. I
have flyers available and the form is also available in
the newsletter.
Besides the motions, there were several other matters discussed.
One item was reimbursement to Area Committee
members who are asked to our districts.
The Area reimburses at the IRS rate, which is now
58 cents a mile. All districts can not afford this,
depending on the travel involved.
It was suggested that an amount be determined at
the time of the request and that the Area would make up
any difference, should this be the case.
Another issue that was brought up was splitting Area 72 .
As Kelly G has been finding out it is very
difficult to find a place that can house 700 plus people
for the Assembly and still be affordable.
When Area 72 (Western Wash.) and Area 92 (Eastern
Wash.) split, the assemblies were pushing the 700 member
mark.
Some of the reasons are 1.
Everyone has a voice to be heard, 2. Smaller
districts have the opportunity to be part of the
Assembly Hosting Process and 3.the Assembly fees can be
less of a hardship on groups as the facility rental fees
will be less.
More will be revealed…..
August 10th…………….Please attend the Pre Assembly at the Auburn
Park and Rec Center.
It is from 12:00 until 4:00, although I strongly
suspect that it will be over before then.
Our Area Chair had wanted that much time,
assuming more that 4 motions would be on the agenda.
I
need to find 2 GSR’s to present pro’s and con’s on a
motion so if someone is interested let me know.
I will have to pick someone otherwise.
Feel free to invite your home group members to
the pre-assembly also if they have ? Or concerns about
the motions.
I am passing around a copy of the Area Finances and Budget for your
review. If
anyone wants a hard copy, please let me know and I will
get that to you.
I will end with a letter from the Alt. Chair re: Assemblies for your
information…Some thoughts you can take back to your
groups.
HOW ABOUT THAT PICNIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW! In
Love and Service, Susie.

Kelly, Mike G. Pam, Suzie, Debbie and Jim P.
Jim P was the speaker.
There was lively discussions and lunch was
provided. Report was accepted.
Corrections
- Larry: I attended the corrections
quarterly on June 21 and we did an inventory on how we
were carrying the message inside the walls.
We addressed the commitment to the traditions and
how we could best serve the institutions and AA as a
whole.
Seattle Intergroup had its first corrections BBQ at the
Seattle Intergroup office and it was a huge success. WE
had tables with applications which volunteers picked up
and filled out.
The money received from the pink can campaign was
$450 which we used to buy AA literature.
We bought 25 Living Sober, 25 Came To Believe,
and the rest went to purchase some Daily Reflections.
The literature was distributed between the men
and lady coordinators at the Kent City Jail.
They are using the Living Sober as a Study
subject guide each week and the results have been
outstanding.

Picnic
– Annie and Johnny –
The District
Picnic was held on Sunday, July 13th starting
at 3 pm at Five Mile Lake in Federal Way.
It was very well
attended, in fact, so well attended that they ran out of
food and had to make an extra food ran….All had a
fabulous time.
Thank you Johnny and Annie for a great job.
Report accepted.
Group Reports:
Kent Solid Sobriety
– Brad J. – Attendance remains strong.
Many members comment that they feel very at home
in our meeting.
No input yet on motions.
We have discussed but they did not have a group
consensus yet.
Will cover it more in our next business meeting.
Healthy Women
– Jonni G. – Last Sunday of the month is our business
meeting.
Group has been splitting up about 2 x a month.
We did nominations for rotation of service
positions.
Federal Way Tuesday Nite Step Study
– Donnie - A lot has been
going on at the Tuesday night Step Study at Calvary
Lutheran at 8:00. I am still new at this GSR thing
so I do not have the proper paperwork for the report, so
I will just give it and then talk to you or someone at
the Meeting.
-First we did vote at the June
Business meeting to have our group be advertised in the
meeting book as having Sign language avail. Lee is
willing to provide it and if there is any instance where
he cannot attend the meeting, he will make sure someone
is there if needs be. There was some concern over
the Anonymity if there was going to be people signing
that we not members of AA, but Lee insured us that there
is a pretty strict Code of Conduct among the Signing
members and it would not be a problem. It was
voted on and passed. Our literature person was going to
get in touch with Intergroup and have them include the
symbol for sign language in the next printing of the
meeting Schedule.
- a motion was brought up second and
passed to set aside $250.00 for the GSR (me) to attend
the Washington area 72 assemble in Everett. So it
looks like I will be attending that so I will fill out
my Registration form and get it in the mail.
-The group liked the idea of the
pamphlets that Tannaly put together for the Professional
community and we are looking at trying to get some made
for members of our meeting to possible hand out
We are consistently getting about
70-80 people every meeting and usually have at least one
newcomer at each meeting.
Federal Way Men’s Stag
– Johnny M. -
Closed meeting, men only, open forum, rotating
chair

Susie wanted to hear about pros and cons of motions as
discussed at preassembly.
Prepare for October vote.
Motion 1:
Becky – Publishing a book of personal stories from
geographically remote areas.
i.e. Loners International.
Cons – we already have a Big Book.
Pro – Keeps you sober.
More tools.
Majority agreed with moving ahead and saw it as a
positive step.
Motion 2: Jonni – Provide up to $1000 per year for each
standing committee.
Pro:
Keeping money locally vs. sending to GSO.
Con:
The money is locked into only budgeted item and cannot
be used for anything else.
Con:
Currently the standing committees have no “workshop”
budget. This
motion adds on assumed reasonability to host a workshop.
Perhaps this motion is too specific.
Susie mentioned that motions can be amended by
your home group.
You cannot change the intent.
Motion 3:
That GSO produce an AA guideline re;
predatory behavior at meetings.
Becky –
Pros:
Suggestions not rules.
Guidelines may bring awareness.
Each group decides how to address enforcement of
guidelines.
Cons: Mike
and Dan - Possible legality problems.
What about “AA has no opinion on outside issues.”
Each group should address issues not AA as a
whole. Ed
suggested amended motion for protecting yourself, not
addressing predators.
Motion 4:
Move the Western WA Area 72 fund Treatment Bridging the
Gap equal to WWA 72 Corrections Bridge.
Pro:
Attempt to clean up budget item.
Budget line items broken down more clearly.
Con:
Too convoluted and intent not clearly outline.
Motion 5:
WWA treasury will pay all costs associated with
requesting interpretation and translation services for
any Area 72 Business meeting.
Would increase budget it to $12,000.
Con – Where do you draw the line?
Russian, Vietnamese, Filipino, ….we are currently
providing ASL and Spanish.
Pro:
Kelly G. As
a committee we can change guidelines as we go.
There is a lot of unknowns.
There aren’t many guidelines.
Costs for these services are huge.
It is not fair to all districts.
Susie suggest tabling discussion until we an all discuss
motions with our home groups.
Group Reports:
Sober on Saturday
– Michael G. We
are an Open meeting and do a big Book Study.
We cover from the beginning of the Big Book to
Alcoholic Anonymous Number Tree.
We usually cover half a chapter a night. We
finished “To the Wives” and started “The Family
Afterward.
Pacific Group

Lots of support here from many years of sobriety
from regular attendees in this group.

Auburn Alkies –
Dan – We had our annual campout at the Game farm
Wilderness Park.
This year we raffled off several donated baskets.
The raffle did well and the funds will be going
toward the cost of the next years campout.
I talked about those cool newcomer sleeves and we
are going to start to put them together.
Next week we are setting aside a room to go over
the motions that have been brought up.
Federal Way Women
– Becky - We are a long
standing strong group.
We have a solid core of home group members and
active regular attendees.
There are three to five new comers a month.
We have a big book and a 12 and 12 study, the
second and third Mondays.
The first Monday is a business meeting; we read a
story during the regular meeting.
The last Sunday of the month is birthday night –
coins, experience-strength-and hope, ask it basket if
time allows.
We held our August business meeting on August 4th.
We had a discussion on Motion 3 and came to the
consensus that Federal Way Women AA group was in favor
of passing and pursuing the creation of guidelines for
inappropriate sexual behavior.
Some very good talking points were generated.
We again
brought the “Pink Can” to our member’s attention and
received some further donations.
We are in good financial standing and just sent
in a group split contribution.
We had four new members

The
Meeting was opened with the Serenity Prayer, Preamble
and 12 Traditions.
DCM
– Susie:
August has been a slow month but I know things will be
gearing up with the end of summer.
I was asked by a GSR a few weeks ago about the
voting process for the motions.
On page S23, in the General Service Manual it
states “While most AA members attend other groups
regularly, the home group is where they participate in
business meeting and
cast their vote as part of the group conscience
of the fellowship as a whole.
As with all group conscience matters, each member
has one vote.”
Evidently, some members were voting at any and
all meetings.
This is the guideline, should anyone ask.
I
have also talked with several of you about the
frustrations of getting home group members to be
interested and involved with AA as a whole. I wish I had
the answer.
The one thing I have heard over and over again is that
your enthusiasm does help.
If any of you have ideas/solutions perhaps we can
discuss this in new business.
Speaking of getting others involved, how is it going
with you replacement for the next rotation?
I firmly believe that a little training and
understanding of a new position makes a world of
difference.
Remember also that we now have the district handbook for
clarification of the various positions available. In
Love and Service.
Report accepted.
Alt. DCM
– Mike –I
have tracked down a "2008 - 2009 Western United States
A. A. Directory" and I am waiting for Gary H. to send me

Jonni was ill.
She did take some schedules to Intercept on 8/19.
Grapevine Literature
– Bob: Progress
is good enough for the moment. Grapevine production via
direct sales have been non-existent and my promotional
efforts have also been lackluster. I fully intend to get
more done as the Fall City
Quarterly approaches in a few more days on the
20th. I have been in touch with Mike(G/L gestapo) and we
have been tossing around ideas for the October assembly
which I will also be attending. I hope all of us will be

I guess all those years flipping steaks at the
Ponderosa paid off.
Auburn Alkies –
Dan – I have gotten the pink can to circulate again.
I’ll be bringing the donations that we have
collected so far to the meeting on Monday.
We have three rooms at the church after the
opening of the meeting we break up into the three rooms.
One is a rotating step study out of the 12x12 and
another is a big book study and the lat room is for a
called step.
Federal Way Women

During the September Business meeting held on 9/1, the

The Meeting was opened with the Serenity Prayer,
Preamble and 12 Traditions.
DCM
– Susie:
The Area Assembly was exciting and passionate, as
usual. We
will go through which motions passed and failed during
new business, but I did want to mention that one motion
failed by one vote (with over 400 group voting).
I say this to let you know that your group’s
votes ARE important.
Our
bid for the 2012 Assembly was not accepted.
2012 will be in Shelton at the Little Creek
Casino. We do
have the bid for 2013.
District 18 and District 31 want to be part of
that so we will have extra hands involved.
It will still be at the same location in Kent
Commons.
Randall Perry, our new Area 72 Chair, will be the
liaison for #18 and District #31 will be letting us know
who their liaison will be.
As most of you know, we have lost our sign language
person for the Tuesday Night Group. This is a problem,
as deaf members are showing up and there is no sign
language provided.
I spoke with our Area Accessibility Chair and he
suggested that perhaps District 32 would like to fund
this????
Donnie, the GSR for Tuesday night, spoke with a GSR from
Seattle (Abigail’s Ghost) and got some information on
where to go for this service.
I will let Donnie share what he found out about
this. Donnie
shared that District 15 has offered to set up a fund for
2 mos. worth the fees ($67.50 per night)
to get the group started with an interpreter.
There was lots of discussion on this concern and
how to fund and provide this service to the deaf
alcoholic.
The subject was tabled for one month. Speaking of deaf
AA members, there were about 6 GSR representing their
groups at the Area Assembly.
They left early as the sign language providers
had to leave early per the contract made with Area 72.
Had they been able to be there, the motion I
mentioned above would have passed.
It was on funding Accessibility. Also, one floor
motion was brought to the floor.
It was approved to purchase a new accounting
program to make the 7th Tradition easier for
the treasurers and the fellowship.
The cost was, I believe, about $230. And I think
they needed 2. That is about all for now. In Love and
Service, Susie Report
accepted.
Alt. DCM
– Mike G. –Setting
up Registry Online.
Report accepted.
Secretary
– Pam: The minutes were approved from
the September meeting. Report

$
412.40. Ending Balance in Checkbook $ 2936.14.
Less Pink Can
Balance $ 285.56. Prudent
Reserve of $ 800.00.
Ending balance of $ 1850.58.
A motion was made to approve the report and it
was accepted.
CPC
– Jean Paul: August CPC Quarterly updates:
- The WWA72 CPC Committee asked
the Area Finance Committee to help defray the cost
for a booth at the Criminal Justice Conference.
Granted by the area.
WWA72 CPC Committee is not set up to accept
any money from any District.
- Tom D, has packets put together
for the GSR’s to take to their doctors.
Next, will be putting together packets for
Clergy.

return e-mail from Mr Garrison, no new letters sent out
at this time.
Rotation ending and I am retiring
from Committee work for the time being (been 7 years),
but will remain available to act as a School moderator.
Report was accepted.
Webmaster
– Mike: Updated
flyers on website and will put a request out for ASL
person for Tuesday meeting.
A motion was made to accept the report and it was
passed.
PI
– Wayne: Needs
to get addresses together where we have literature
racks. I
have one empty rack left for any home group who would
like to find a
place to display it.
We need to find a group to sponsor the rack at
the clinic on 308th and 1st Ave.
also there is a rack at the UW Clinic on 24th
and 320th.
Another rack that needs a sponsor is the Lakeside
Clinic on 9th Ave by St. Francis.
Next month is when we usually get the call from
Riverside HS for a Panel.
A committee member had to resign due to family
issues.
Still would like to see more persons show up for
committee meetings so the next PI Chair has a committee
when he/she takes over the position.
I will make my house available for the incoming
chair for a few committee meetings.
The next quarterly is in Nov.
If anyone is interested in learning more about PI
they are welcome to attend.
The outgoing Area PI Chair is making this a
welcome meeting to new PI’s.
Thank you for letting me serve as your PI
Committee Chair.

I was able to attend the General Assembly in
Everett and participate in some of the nominations and
voting.
Trish L. volunteered to be Alternate GSR for this
meeting.
THANKS!
Tuesday Step Study – Donni
– Continues to have one to two newcomers per meeting.
We have a Big Book study, step one and rotating
steps. Our
ASL interpreter is no longer available and this is a big
concern due to the fact that we have advertised in the
latest meeting schedule that we have an ASL interpreter
and we have had some deaf members showing up.
Cost of ASL interpreter is $67.50 per meeting for
90 minutes.
Any help from other
meetings would be appreciated.

DCM
– Susie - I emailed most of you with the letter
from GSO requesting our input on Self Support.
I have several copies here for those of you who
do not receive email.
I will read the letter from our Delegate to you.
I did not copy the 17 pages of the budget, as it
wasn’t clear on my Adobe.
We received a letter to our district requesting district
funds for The Little Burien Assembly.
There is also a separate letter for all of the
GSR’s to give to their home groups.
We approved $50.00 in our budget for this. Also,
for your information, District 32 is one of the
districts sponsoring this function so if anyone would
like to be part of that committee it will be greatly
appreciated.
As a lot of you know, the General Manager for GSO has
stepped down and there has been a committee
interviewing/taking applications or what ever they do
for this position.
It is pretty exciting that Phyllis Halliday, a
past Delegate for Washington and also a Past Pacific
Regional Trustee has been hired for General Manager for
GSO. She
will be moving to New York next month.
Congrats to Phyllis. Lastly, I want to thank you
all for the support, encouragement, love and kindness
you have shown me over the past 2 years.
It has been a great experience and honor to be
the DCM for #32.
You are all just wonderful! In Love and Service,
Susie. Report accepted.
Alt. DCM
– Mike G. – Has more hats than most of us but
getting ready to take over only one position but that is
the big one…with lots of responsibility.
Mike is our incoming DCM for the next two years
and I am sure will do a great job - thank you Mike!
Report
accepted.

CPC
– Jean Paul:
Did not attend but did send in his report.
Traveling this
meeting. In
Honolulu and LA for meetings.
- Attended the recent CPC/PI Qtrly at Fremont
Baptist Church on Saturday the 8th. It was a
kind of farewell meeting for the Area Chairs- Tannley
and Steve. Has it been two years already!?!
Got a little fired up again about this work, but
know I need to step down from PI/CPC chairing for now. I
am happy to remain in an Alternate role, but we need
some new blood to continue the work we have finally
gotten started in District 32
At the Quarterly, Molly (InterGroup
PI Alternate Chair) grabbed me and wanted moral support
for a Monday morning presentation to the Seattle School
District Intervention Specialists! 4 of us attended the
meeting on the 10th, and presented the
Organization of AA for sharing Information about AA and
alcoholism.
It was very different than what they
expected, but it was what they really wanted, not the
disorganized way that it has been pursued in the past!
They now would like us to do the same presentation to
the Health Class Teacher Coordinator!
- Upcoming Panels at Auburn Riverside and Decatur
High Schools.
Report was accepted.
Webmaster
– Mike: Updated
flyers on website and meeting schedules and
doing more
Registry corrections to the website.
Report was accepted.
PI
– Wayne: I
need to know where some of the Pamphlet racks are that I
passed out so I can forward the information to the next
PI chair. I filled up 2 racks this last week at the
Federal Way clinic on 308th & 1st
Ave. and the UW clinic on 24th and 320th.
Pamphlets at the UW have gone fast. I also delivered
some schedules to the Extended Stay hotel on 320th
and the new Best Western on 320th. I haven’t
got down to the church on 272nd that
requested a rack yet. I have one rack left out of the
ones I built.
Riverside High School has asked us back again for
this coming Friday, Nov. 21st, Also Lakeside
Milam passed on a message that
Decatur High School health teacher is
requesting a panel to come in December.
The next PI Quarterly is February 14th
in Everett, Wa.
I realized how rewarding this
position has been when I saw empty pamphlet racks @ the
clinics. We never know who out there might need the
little nudge from the boredom of waiting at the Dr’s
office while reading a Pamphlet, to realize AA is out
there. Or the kid in a class asking what he might think
is a stupid question.
Please make a position in your Home Group for the
PI Position…we need participation.
Committees of one just do not word very well.
Wayne’s next PI Committee meeting is Wednesday, December 10th at 6 pm at
his house 35830 25th Place So., Federal Way.
Phone # 253-653-9014.
Report was
accepted.
Accessibility
– Kelly: At our meeting we discussed what other
options we had in regards to the Tuesday night meeting
needing an ASL interpreter to sign at the meetings.
One suggestion was to have the meeting on the
first Tuesday of the month and the third Tuesday of the
month. This
will help the cost of funding the meetings.
Bob made a plea for money to hire an ASL
interpreter to sign at the meetings at least as a stop
gap for two months while the committee tries to get a
person to sign at no or a lower cost.
There was much discussion in regards to this
situation.
There needs to be some continuity for the Deaf Community
and meetings but consideration of cost is the main
problem. The
topic was tabled until next month’s meeting after the
members can take it to their meetings for discussion and
solutions.
More research will be done by the committee.
District 32 Accessibility committee will be
hosting the January Quarterly.
This will be on January 17th at The
church of Christ at 30012 Military Road South, Federal
Way from 9 am to 2 pm.
Our next meeting for the committee is on Dec. 8th
at 6 pm at Kelly’s house – 2724 SW 341st
Federal Way.
Treatment / BTG – Jonni – Got a call
from Larry at Intergroup.
Julie at Decatur HS looking for a Question and
Answer Panel.
Larry will be calling me back tomorrow with her
phone number.
New meeting went into SeaMar on Sunday nights.
Need to get a supply of literature to give to
Lakeside Milam on 9th Avenue in Federal Way.
Report accepted.
Grapevine Literature
– Bob: Report
was accepted.
Corrections
– Dan – Discussion of needs for
clearance and would like a committee of more than one.
Report was accepted.
Archives
– Mike – Jim and I attended the Nov 1st
Quarterly in Longview. We purchased copies of the Jack
Alexander Articles.
I will have the m laminated version for you next
month. If
you have anything you deem salvageable get it to me and
I will store it with our records or send it to Area
archives.
Dave Cantrell spent the last few months putting together
(with the help of Karin at Intergroup) an Archives
display for South Africa’s new national Archivist.
Report was accepted.

a called step.
We are having our gratitude dinner this Sunday,
Nov 23rd
and I should have included it in the last report.
Our Group continues to have about 20 – 25 people
in attendance on a regular basis.
It also seems that our newcomers seem to maintain
sobriety and keep coming back so we must be doing
something
right. We
also continue to pass the Pink Can and it doing its job
too. I for
one forgot to collect from it last meeting though so
there will be three month’s worth next GSR meeting.

turned in to District Treasurer at November meeting.

announced District position openings.

if interested in a District level service position and
gave District website information for further
information.
Continue to invite members to quarterlies and other AA
events. New
time for Business meeting will be the first Wed of the
month.
Auburn – Anna
– Group still has many opportunities for service, we did
a group inventory last week and are looking at how we
can better carry the message as a group.
Federal Way Women – Becky
– Gratitude Dinner was Monday , Nov 17th.
Our scholarship fund is at its mark of $250.
Pays for half registration for AA sponsored
events and 2 $50 grocery gift cards at Christmas.
All service positions are filled with
alternatives.
White River – Tony
– Going Great.
Will have $150 for Pink Can next month.
Federal Way Step Study – Donnie
– Group voted to table the issue of ASL Interpreter
until November business meeting.
The group conscious was that we could not afford
to pay an interpreter completely by ourselves.
We would wait to see if any other groups in
District 32 would be able to help out.
If not we would need to remove this meeting from
the book as an ASL meeting.
Do It
Together – Jessica – Will no longer be attending
the meetings due to a new job and also her due date is
very close.
John is her replacement.
Wednesday Night Open Meeting – Bob
- I finally got it(sort
of). My home group, Wednesday Night Open(topic) Meeting
has heretofore reported to the district rather poorly.
And to my chagrin ,and with sincere apology, I
personally accept that burden of said inept reporting.
It is perhaps a result of many unacquired habits
never adequately passed my way in the islands, acting
then in alternate capacity with no admissible
responsibility other than co-participant at meetings in
the state and district level.
So, to clean the slate and jump right in
completely aware of my responsibility to both my group
and the district I hereby humbly submit this report for
the past month. Nothing new.
Just kidding.! Our group meets Wednesday evening
at 8:00pm at the Good Shepherd Church on 312th close to
First Avenue. This very site hosts several AA functions
weekly and we all frequent them. I will mention the F.
Way Men's Stag on Saturday morn at 9 and the Ten o'clock
Candlelight meeting as well as a ladies meeting
during the week that I have not had the pleasure yet of
attending.
We are pleased to announce the availability of having
some rather cherished service positions becoming open
upon acceptance of said position. Please come down and
try our Secretary's slot for a minimum commitment of 10
or 20 years. Greeter and assistant coffee master open to
the right AA. member available. Just come down This
Wednesday at a time before or after the meeting. We will
be there along with 20 to 30 others that attend weekly.
A real solid assortment of highly qualified alcoholics.
You will enjoy a sobering Hour, Guaranteed! Thanks for
allowing me to be of service....Mahalo and Aloha, Bob
We
closed in the usual manner and adjoined at 8:30 pm
Respectfully Submitted,
Pam J.
